Center Township Electric Aggregation Program
Whereas the Ohio Legislature has enacted deregulation (Senate Bill #3) which authorizes legislative authorities of municipal corporations, townships and counties to aggregate the retail electrical loads located within the respective jurisdictions and enter into service agreements to facilitate for those loads, the purchase and sale of electricity ("Governmental Aggregation") As such this measure was placed on the ballot to the voters of Center Township and passed May 04, 2010. This ballot measure is a "Opt-out program" which places all residents and small businesses in the program, who are NOT currently under an aggregation agreement contract. This aggregation program will notify all residents and businesses who fall under the program prior to the start of each township contract of the rate and how to "Opt-out" if you do not wish to participate.
What is electric aggregation?
Under governmental aggregation, township trustees bring the township population together to gain group buying power for the purchase of competitively priced electricity from an electric supplier certified by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Center Township residents and small businesses may opt-in or opt-out as they wish. Visit the DYNEGY.com website and select Municipal aggregation- "communities we serve" to explore this cost effective option.
